LAA charges 7% on funds raised under an approved fiscal sponsorship arrangement to support basic bookkeeping, donation administration, organizational oversight, reporting, and general overhead. Other processing charges, insurance, licenses, permits, and separately contracted services are not included.

Insurance, permits & responsibility

Event insurance can be arranged through LAA for approved activities, subject to insurer approval.

Insurance is not included in the 7% fiscal sponsorship fee. Premiums depend on activities, location, attendance, ages, duration, hazards, transportation, food service, policy limits, and other insurer questions. Applicants or project funds pay separately in advance unless an alternative written agreement is approved. Coverage is only effective once the insurer confirms it.

Project-specific fees are not paid by LAA from general operating funds. Insurance, permit, license, inspection, background-check, and related compliance costs are paid by the applicant or sponsored project. Any exception requires a separately approved written coaching, administrative, or financial arrangement and receipt of required advance deposits before LAA incurs the expense.

How we resolve disagreements

1. Good-faith discussion

The parties would first notify one another of a dispute in writing and attempt to resolve it through direct discussion for 30 calendar days.

2. Mediation

Unresolved disputes would proceed to mediation with a mutually selected neutral mediator. Mediator fees would ordinarily be shared equally, with each party bearing its own advisory expenses. If no mediator is selected within 15 days or mediation does not resolve the dispute within 45 days after selection, either party may proceed to arbitration.

3. Binding arbitration

To the extent lawful, unresolved disputes arising under a signed agreement would be decided by an impartial arbitrator under Washington's Uniform Arbitration Act, Chapter 7.04A RCW, and applicable law. The parties would first try to agree on a single arbitrator; otherwise one may be appointed under applicable law. The arbitration may be remote or at a mutually agreed Washington location. Each party will have a fair opportunity to present its case. An award may be entered in a court with jurisdiction, subject to any legally available review.

Emergency relief and charitable funds

Either party may seek legally appropriate emergency court relief. LAA retains its legal responsibility to protect charitable assets, follow donor restrictions, and comply with law, including during disputes.

This overview is informational. These procedures are not binding simply because you submit an application. They become binding only if included in a subsequently signed agreement, after legal review.
